(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) Sept. 28, 2011 - Daytona State College will host two days of unparalleled professional softball by some of the world’s best female athletes Oct. 4 and 5, when the National Pro Fastpitch Softball League brings its Back to School Tour to town.
Sponsored by the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) and Major League Baseball, the Daytona Beach leg of the tour will feature three games pitting the league’s all-stars against the Daytona State College Falcons fastpitch softball team and the University of Florida Gators women’s team.
The NPF Back to School Tour was launched in 2010 as a way to introduce the league and its athletes to fans across the United States. The NPF team of all-stars is a combination of players from all four of the League’s participants - Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, NPF Diamonds, and USSSA Florida Pride.
The Falcons will face off against the NPF All-Stars on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m. The Falcons vie against the Florida Gators on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. followed by NPF All-Stars vs. Florida Gators at 8:15 p.m.
All games will be held at the Daytona State College Softball Complex located on the northwest end of the Daytona Beach Campus, 1200 W. International Speedway Blvd.
